“Cheese – The shapes of milk ” International Event organized by Slowfood

“Cheese – The shapes of milk”, a biennal event organized by Slowfood is coming back to Bra, in Piedmont, from 18th to 21st September 2009.

This festival has reached its seven edition and is followed by a wide public of fans. Then it is a reference point for the milk dairy industry craftsmen and its strong possibility to spread the history and the specificities of every kind of cheese, from the dairy animals to the finished products.


So the town of Bra turns into a laboratory of tastings, didactic activities and high quality lectures for four days, in order to give space to the quality dairy productions that are bound to the traditions of the Langhe, of the Italian regions and of various parts of the world.

This event is above all a yourney of acquaintance and a moment of pleasure that can be lived together with your family or with your friends, in order to meet new tastes or to discover some old ones. Moreover, Cheese proposes to the children who attend the primary school a perfect trip in the territories of cheese through some laboratories that concentrate on food education through the knowledge of traditions and dairy products.

For adults there are several opportunities to have breaks in the tasting stands or in the street kitchens that are placed in different points of the town, to taste the typical cookery of the Italian regions or to try a quick snack, prepared according to tradition, as the Sicilian croquettes (arancini) or the Recco focaccia (flat bread).
