The musical show called Emilia Romagna Festival started on 24th June 2007. This is an important event, both for the national and for the international scene, that has been organized by the two towns of Imola and Bologna and by Romagna.
This long musical celebration will go on till 7th September and it will include 58 concerts with the same goal: to enhance the dialogue among the different music genres, by accepting the classical, the contemporary, the traditional, the symphonic and the blues repertoires.
In the present year’s programme some important guests will be present, as Ennio Morricone, Mchael Nyman, the Philharmonia Chorus and the Old Royal Naval College Chapel Choir from London, accompanied by the Greenwich Baroque Orchestra and by the narrating voices of actors as Elio, Ivano Mrescotti, Alessandro Haber.
Moreover the Festival will pay homage to two great figures of the Italian culture: to Carlo Goldoni (tercentenary of his birth) with a poetic-musical itinerary in Zola Predosa (12/07) and to Giuseppe Garibaldi (bicentenary of his birth) with the prestigious London Philarmonia Chorus, that will perform the famous “Arie e Cori Verdiani” in Cesenatico.
The Emilia Romagna Festival is part of a development plan of the Romagna hinterland and of its fantastic products, that combines music and art with the region’s potentialities.
Finally we remind you that, according to the Festival’s philosophy, which is centred around the popular spreading of the musical culture, almost every concert is admission free or with a special price (from 5 to 10 Euro). For some concerts you can buy the tickets in advance: for more information, see the programma or the site.
We wish you to go to the festival and to enjoy these fine summer evenings of culture promoted by our beautiful region!!
